Top 5 Fall/Winter Beauty Essentials

There are a few beauty essentials that every girl should have in her makeup bag for Fall and Winter, so thought I would share with you guys what I think the essentials should be.

So let's start of with the face: If you live in a Country where it gets really cold in Winter time, I would suggest that you should go get yourself a nice and thick face cream. The coldness and the wind can be very hash to the skin and since your face is what that is least covered up, then it needs some kind of protection from the Winter. A thick cream will help keep the face moisturized from the wind (since cold winds drys out your skin)

I am sadly a victim of getting really dry and sensitive skin in Winter time, so I'm always on the hunt for a nice cream. The one that has been my go-to cream for the past 2-3 years is the Bebe cream by Johnsons. They have a variety of creams that focus on something specific - so wether you have dry to sensitive skin or a combination, they got your back.

Speaking of keeping something moisturized, I suggest you also have a good lip balm close to you at all times. Nobody wants dry and chaky lips and as the wind can dry out your skin, it can also dry out your lips. Don't even think about just licking around your lips, since it's only going to make it worse -So invest in a good lip balm!

My favorite lip balm so far is the EOS lip balm. Don't think that I haven't tried other kinds, but I must say that the EOS lip balms has helped my lips the most. So I always carry one in my bag. Actually if you look around, you will see that I have a lip balm in the bathroom, one in my bedroom next to my bed and one in my bag. I would say it's one of my Holy Grails.

The next thing as a beauty essential is having a nice dark lip colour. Every girl should at least have one dark lipstick for Fall/Winter. If you don't think that dark colours suits you, it is not true. It's just about finding the perfect shade depending on your skintone. If you feel like you don't have really white teeth and you can't really afford getting them bleached or something, then just go after a lipstick shade that has a blue undertone. That will help making your teeth look whiter.

The next thing that you shouldn't neglect in Winter time is your hands. Always, always, always make sure to wear gloves or mittens when you go out! I have learned that the hard way. The Winter and cold winds can give you really dry hands and that can lead to drying the cuticles (the skin around your nails).

I don't know about you, but I always want nice looking hands so one thing I always carry around me wherever I go is my go-to hand cream from the Bodyshop. I have been using the Almond hand and nail cream since I was in College (since 2007). It is really moisturizing, it keeps your nails and skin soft, it's not sticky and it has a light scent of Almond. So if you want to try a new hand cream, why not try out the Almond hand cream from the Bodyshop - I swear by this stuff!

The last thing has also got to do with the hand, or more specific something on the hands - yes, you got it, the nails! Every girl should at least have 5 types of nailpolishes in her collection, especially when we are nearing the Christmas season and the following colours are a nice navy blue colour, a shade of grey (also seen on my nails if you check out my instagram "withshandra), a dark red colour for the Christmas season and one in black for new years and of course also one with some glitters.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed my Beauty Essentials and hopefully you've learned something new. So until next time - Ingat!

Top 3 Fall Lipsticks

When the weather is slowly changing and we are getting closer to Winter, one of the must haves in the beauty and make up section is a nice dark lip colour. I thought I would share my top 3 colours for Fall and Winter. These are the ones I grab towards whenever I'm on my way out and they usually accompany me in my make up bag too whenever I'm going on a trip.

These are super nice on the lips, has a nice colour pay off, they are matte and non-drying for the lips.
Rimmel
So the first lipstick is by Rimmel called Dark Knight Waterl-Oops, I've already mentioned this in my October fave post, but here is how it looks like. It is this pretty dark red colour (kinda reminds me of like a vampires lipstick XD) that looks superb on the lips. It is from the moisturize line so it doesn't leave your lips dry like some other lipsticks - We like!

If you're looking for a lipstick that not only has a nice colour but also stays on your lips for many hours AND is moisturizing, then you should go and by yourself a Rimmel lipstick.

MAC
The second lipstick that I almost always grab when I get ready is by M.A.C and it's the Viva Glam 1, which I've also mentioned in my October fave. If you haven't read my October Fave, then you should go and check that out here: http://www.withshandra.blogspot.dk/2014/11/october-faves.html

It is this really nice red colour that for me just screams Christmas! The perfect colour to wear for any Christmas dinner.

Chi Chi
The last lipstick is by a brand called Chi Chi, I'm not sure how famous it is around the world? But I do know it is known in Australia, and that's where I got it. I would say Chi chi kinda reminds me of M.A.C, they almost got the same price. I know M.A.C lipsticks cost around 15 US dollars while Chi Chi cost I think 19 Australian dollars. Anyways so this one by Chi Chi and it's called Hollywood Wannabee. The colour is a mix between hot pink and purple - very pretty for an everyday lipstick.

Which colour do you prefer for Fall and Winter? Leave a comment down below, I would love to know! And if you have any recommendations on other colours, please let me know too.

Anyways that was all for today, until next time - Ingat!

Lookbook: Casual Monday On a Tuesday

Shirt: Vallygirl / High waisted jeans: Vallygirl

You can never go wrong by wearing something casual and comfy. So I picked this loose grey shirt that is somewhat drapped and matched it with my denim jeans. It looks stylish and neat - you don't always have to dress up fancy to look nice and put together. As long as you're wearing something that makes you feel comfortable and you feel good, confidence will shine through.

Earrings: Guess / Purse: Juicy Couture / Shoes: Nelly.com

Accessories always make any outfit more personal, so I decided to put a splash of black into my outfit and I matched it with these black boots/shoes that I bought from Nelly.dk and with my little black purse from Juicy Couture.

Anyways that was all for today.. I hope you guys will have a great week and until next time - Ingat!

The Sweater Weather Tag

Okay, since this is the last month of Fall I figured it would be fun to do a little tag and which tag would be better than the Sweater Weather tag? I've seen them on youtube so I thought I'd give it a go here, so let's start! :)

Question 1: Favorite candle scent?
Okay, so everyone who knows me knows that I love scents that are sweet and pretty much smells like food - wether it's candy or fruits. Anything that smells "foody" and sweet, that's ma thing!

We don't really have Yankee Candles here where I live (In dk) so I've tried to find something similar. I've tried so many scented candles, but to be honest, they don't really last that long.
BUT then when I was in Sydney last July, I found some Yankee Candles in this shop and I will say Yankee Candles are now my fave so far! But to which Yankee scent I prefer? Then I'd say the Tropical Paradise. It doesn't have anything to do with Fall but still. It smells so amazing - best part is that it filled the entire room with the scent and even Noob (you'll get to hear more about him later) loved the scent. I'm actually thinking of asking him to buy me some from Aus, is that sad? XP

Question 2: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
ALL THREE! Is that allowed? I mean every morning I drink coffee with sugar and milk and then at night I drink tea, usually green tea and when my siblings are all gathered in the house, we make hot chocolate with whipped cream spinkled with cinnamon and chocolate chunks. So.. I will say all three but for Christmas I would say hot chocolate for sure!

Question 3: What's the best fall memory you have?
Hmm...? That's a good question. I don't really have any special fall memory but I got lots of Christmas if that counts?

Question 4: Which makeup trend do you prefer; Dark lips or winged eyeliner ?
Dark lips all the way! For Fall and Winter you will always see me with dark lips. Don't get me wrong, I love winged eyeliner too but you will always see me with dark lips in the Fall/Winter time. Stay tuned cause my next post will be my top 3 favourite lip colour for Fall/Winter.

Question 5: Best fragrance for Fall?
Are we talking about perfume or in general? If it's perfume then I don't really have a "Fall" fragrance since all my perfumes pretty much smells light and fruitty. But if we are talking about general then I would say Cinnamon or vanilla! I love the scent of those two. Haha can you tell I just love food? XP

Question 6: Favorite Thanksgiving food?
Well.. We don't really celebrate Thanksgiving here, I think it's only in America who does that? Maybe also Canada? I'm not sure, but here in Denmark we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. We have something similar called Mortens Aften which is in November where you're suppose to eat duck but there isn't any mashed potato or cranberry sauce or anything like that. But I really want to try a real Thanksgiving dinner.

Question 7: What is Fall weather like where you live?
It is cold, grey and just all in all kinda sucky. I'm not a fan of the coldness, the only good thing about Fall is that you get to snuggle inside and drink hot beverages. And let's not forget that it means December is around the corner. Am I the only one who is counting the days down until Christmas?

Question 8: Most worn sweater?
My most worn sweater is this Snoopy knit I got in like 2011 on sale haha. Till this day it's still my fave. In general I don't really wear sweaters since I feel fat when I wear knit sweaters. My Snoopy is the only one where I don't feel fat in it, plus it doesn't hurt that it's really cute.

Question 9: Must-have nail polish?
I would say for Fall then it's anything dark like dark red or blue or black. I can't name one, just something dark in general. I'm currently wearing one from Essence in this black colour with white shimmers.

Question 10: Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
I would say jumping in leaves, I've never really done it before so yeah I'd for sure jump in a pile of leafs unless you took me to real Rugby game and it's Australia vs. New Zealand, then I would pick rugby for sure! I'm not much of a football fan, never been but rugby I would love to watch.

Question 11: Skinny jeans or leggings?
Leggings! For sure! Leggings all the way! A classmate of mine actually asked me if I even own a pair of jeans cause for the past year, she had only seen me wear leggings or jeggings. Haha it's funny cause that's what I pretty much wear all year round. I'm not a fan of jeans, they are just uncomfy but I do own one pair of skinny jeans but it's pretty much collecting dust in my closet.

Question 12: Combat boots or Uggs?
Uhm well I will be honest and say Uggs cause they are so comfy to wear, though I wouldn't wear them when I go out, plus Noob hates them. He finds them so ugly, so to please him I don't wear them when we go out.

Question 13: Is pumkin spice worth the hype?
NO! Nooooooooooooooo, no and no. Non, nej, nein, nope. I've only tried the pumkin spice latte from Starbucks and oh my God, no. It's just have this really weird taste of spices and something. I'm not a fan. I don't really get why so many americans love it? But yeah, I'm not a fan.

Question 14: Favorite Fall tv show?
Uhm.. I don't have a specific tv show that I only watch when it's Fall but the new season of Bones did just start and I am hooked! Oh my God, I love, love, love Bones!

Question 15: What songs really gets you in into the Fall spirit?
I listen to all types of songs year round, so I can't say I have a list of songs that gets me into the Fall spirit. I would say I get into the spirit by seeing the different colour leafs and just seeing how the weather is slowly changing.

Anyways I hope this was interesting for you, or that you at least got to know me a little bit better?

Anywho until next time, - Ingat!

October Faves ♡

Okay, so I thought the best way to start out this new project of mine is by doing a monthly fave. I loooove watching them on youtube, so I thought why not just share my faves with you as well? So here is a quick over-view of what I've been using none-stop of October.

Scents
The first fave of mine is a bodymist by Victoria Secret, I don't know if it's still available since I got it some time ago. It's the Sweet Tease Beauty Rush - vanila cream and sparkling berries. And let me tell ya, it smells ah-maaaaa-ziiing if you're into sweet scents that is. If you love anything that pretty much smells sweet like candy or food in general, then I recomend this one. It says it has berries in it, but it's the vanila scent that empowers the entire scent. I always get compliments whenever I use it so yeah.. I know it's not a very "Fall" kinda scent, but then again I don't really like scents that have like a heavy deep scent like a woods or something like that, if that makes sense?

Eyes
Anywho moving on to the eyes.. One of my ultimate fave mascaras is the Clinique Lash Mascara Double Volume. Now I'm half asian, and I've been so unlucky to have the "typical" asian lashes as in tiiiiiny short lashes. I have been searching for yeeeeaaaaars after a mascara that would help make my lashes look longer. I know I could pretty much use fake lashes or get lash extensions but first of, applying fake lashes every single day early in the morning (I wake up at 5 am to go to school)? No thanks, and I've been told that lash extensions ruins your real lashes, so I'll pass on that too.

Anyways so I had been searching for the mascara and then I somehow found the Clinique one, and oh my gosh. It seriously has helped my lashes look longer and thicker! No kidding! It might not sound true but I can see a difference and even my friends and family notice that my lashes look longer than usual haha - so yay for Clinique!

Lips
Okay so the last couple of things that I have been loving the month of Oct are some lippie products. The first one is a lip balm, the EOS to be specific. To be honest, I've been using them for months now, pretty much since I got a hand on them and I actually got a little collection going on. I would say the EOS lip balm is my fave lip balm of all times since I find them to just moisturise my lips better than any other lippie I've tried. The only sucky part about the EOS is that they are kinda pricy here where I live - they cost between 49-79 kr which is over 10 dollars or more?! That is crazy to think about when they only cost around 4-5 dollars in the US (hence why I got so many)

The last two items are lipsticks. I find that wearing lipstick makes me feel more confident so I always make sure to wear lipstick.

The first one is 380 Dark Knight Waterl-Opps by Rimmel which is a moisture renew lipstick. It's like a really dark red mixed with some dark purple or like a plum-ish kind of colour. Perfect for the Fall and Winter timer since it's all about dark lips. It is part of the Rimmel moisture renew line, so it is very moisturinsing and mat at the same time. It doesn't leave your lips feeling dry like other lipsticks and it holds for a very long time. Personally for me it holds around 4-7 hours depending on how much I ate and drink haha.

And lastly is the lipstick by M.A.C called Viva Glam 1. It's this really nice red lipstick. Super goooorrr on the lips and not drying at all, if you just make sure to apply some lipbalm before you apply the lipstick. A really nice colour for Fall and Winter so I know I'll be using it A LOT - most likely the lipstick I'll be wearing for Christmas Eve.

Anyways that was all my fave products for the month of October. I hope you enjoyed my little blog and yeah until next time - Ingat!
