#WithShandraInParis Part 2: The railwaystation & The king and his wish ✈️

So let me take you back to December when I was in Paris with Noob.. After we were done visiting and pretty much being mesmerized by the beautiful Notre Dame, we went to Musee D'Orsay which contains art mainly from 1848 to 1915 - artists such as Claude Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh. The museum was originally a train station but was later on turned into the museum we know today. In the museum you're not allowed to take pictures so I only took a few with Noob's phone so shh.. Don't tell the staff at D'Orsay >_<

After our stroll around the museum and trying being photo ninjas with Noob's cellphone, we went directly to the most famous museum in France; The Louvre! The Louvre itself is gorgeous with its architecture and its details, but it is a whole different story once you enter the museum. Every room was designed and decorated differently so you couldn't help but falling deeper in love with the building. I must say, the french really know their stuff!

The Louvre is divided into 3 sections; The egyptian, the greek and the persian section. You enter the museum through the glass pyramid and walk down under the ground to enter the main floor. Since we were only staying in Paris for a weekend, we had a tight schedule to see everything, so we only stayed at Louvre for a couple of hours but trust me, that isn't enough! My goal besides seeing the Louvre with my own eyes, was to take a picture of the famous Mona Lisa - mission accomplished! Did you know the Louvre was originally a fortress and the King of France at the time had a big art collection and on his death bed, he wished that he could share his treasures with the rest of the world, so the fortress became a museum? (The Mona Lisa was actually a gift to the King from Da Vinci).

If you are a true sucker for history, art and architecture then the Louvre is the place to go - well Paris is the place to go. The fortress itself contains so much history that it would be impossible for me to write it all in one post. But let me just say I am for sure going back there!

Tip to remember: If you go to Louvre, I suggest that you spend an entire day there, since it holds so many treasures.

Anyways I think I'm going to end the post here before it gets way too long. Hopefully you learned something new and until next time - Ingat!
